Part 1: My teaching philosophy.

I'm still really young in the teaching program, so my philosophy is maybe a little weak and not very concrete, (I think teachers should ALWAYS be revising their philosophies anyway) but I believe that teachers should always strive to remember what they are there for. They are there to help the students succeed in life. This includes many things, but I think the most important is the teaching. As part of this, teachers need to impart wisdom to their students, but as St Thomas Aquinas taught, teachers must also provide the light by which the students can understand the information. Imparting information does no good unless the students can make connections to their own lives and the world in which they live. Teachers also need to teach how to be a good citizen and member of a community. Though religion is not allowed to be taught in public schools, there are some morals, rules, and attitudes that nearly every society in our world believe should be followed. The teacher must teach these morals to their students and give them opportunities to develop them.
